Descriptions

Descriptions of modern life always cheer me up:

"Life is slow dying" (Nothing To Be Said, Philip Larkin)
A really good poem, I didn't realise its gravity until today.

Clov: He's crying.

Hamm: Then he's living. Did you ever have an instant of happiness?

Clov: Not to my knowledge.

(Endgame, Samuel Beckett)
