Resonance

Just back from Dre's performance at the Esplanade. It was great! catchy pop tunes (especially liked the rendition of Desiree's Fire, and I heard the group of 6 only got hold of it a couple of days before), upbeat jazz AND classical (rare, but they pulled it off!) and, wonder of wonders, Audrey doing a Cantonese solo! *wolf-calls*

All acapella style.

They're going to perform tomorrow (27 July) again, so if you're around, or love music, do: head to the Esplanade's indoor Concourse (big space with installation art right smack at the heart of the esplanade lobby) for a 7.30pm or 8.30pm show. It's absolutely free, plus they've got comfy seats.

(btw, I only endorse good music, so trust me!)

*double take* then again, I did bring up BSB in the last entry....but this one's different! Home-grown students with a flair.

Gin had a soulful voice, and pulled the solos off well, deep alto voice that set the mood for those two pieces. Simon had spot-on whistling, and a nice deep baritone voice, which went well with the higher parts. Loads of good eye contact with fellow singers too, which gave a good presentation of harmony (in all aspects). Dre, you rock my socks *hahahaha* with the sop. part: was that an A? and getting comfortable with the stage, esp. at your solos! Clear voice that resonated through, with catchy accompaniment (good job on the arrangement of scores).

A big grateful thanks to Matt too, who didn't kill me for telling him the wrong time. Wrong i.e. 7 hours too early. *beeeg oops* so we both waited...and waited..but! got to see Kym Ng and Sharon Au and Key Elements perform at the Esplanade concert hall at no charge (not with Kym and Sharon) and lots of food (Marina Square has been renovated and is now filled with a gazillion food outlets)
